Scan 131570002Pictured to the right is my dad, Kreg Palko.

He is an avid skier, known to launch off jumps into spread eagles and sometimes topple off small cliffs. He is a hiking enthusiast, and has climbed mountains and glaciers in the Torres del Paine of Patagonia. He has a love of surfing and collects more boards than he will ever need. He has ridden his bike down trails that would be scary to hike, terrifyingly bringing me along with him. He could be seen whizzing through the neighborhood on his longboard in his wetsuit at 6am, having just finished his weekly sunrise waterski session.

He’s an active guy and belongs in the outdoors. Now, things are different.

Often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.

My dad has touched so may lives in this world, and now it’s time to show him the love!

Your support really helps us, and we cannot thank you enough.

Love, Gabby
